Sita Ram
On my recent visit in India, when I would meet an old Indian
devotee of Maharaj-ji I would petition them to tell me a story.
This is one of them.
This young Indian gentleman, a doctor, was having a very difficult
life. Trying to make ends meet and provide a proper life for
his family and all the other pressures of a young man and much
mental anguish, prompted him to seek out this Neem Karoli Baba.
He heard that this Baba helped all good people. The young doctor
found Maharaj-ji in Delhi in 1956. The young doctor went to satsang
with Maharaj-ji present and upon entering Baba called him to
sit up near Him. After some hours of not much happening, the
young man was wondering why, and what he was doing there. Suddenly
Maharaj-ji gets up and says to him, let's go, come with me. They
got into a man pulled rickshaw and Maharaj-ji told the driver
to take them to the Governors residence for some Official Function.
The driver was instructed to say upon arrival that "He had
been sent for." They arrived at the gates, with armed guards
and lots of security and the guard asked the driver "Where
are you going with this empty rickshaw?" He responded, "I
was sent for." The guard said, "Well, all right go
ahead." They came to yet another security check and he was
asked again, "Where are you going with this empty rickshaw?"
He responed, "I was sent for." "Pass then, go
ahead," said the guard. Upon arriving at the main entrance
the Governor came out and pranamed to Maharaj-ji's feet and welcomed
them in. Beloved Maharaj-ji went to such great lengths to give
this young doctor that experience, for sometimes we cannot see
Him but rest assured He is there. He is a most compassionate
Baba. And those who have the eyes of faith and love can always
know, He is there.
The now not so young doctor then confided that from that day
on his life changed completely and his entire family are devotees.
